Job description

Lansweeper is seeking an accomplished Principal Sales Engineer with a robust background in IT Asset Management (ITAM) or related fields, combined with extensive experience in cybersecurity and proficiency in IT Service Management (ITSM) tools.

The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in driving revenue growth by providing technical expertise and strategic guidance to our sales team, effectively positioning our solutions to both technical stakeholders and C-suite executives. This position requires a strategic thinker who can articulate the value of our software solutions in the context of digital transformation and IT modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer requirements and develop tailored solutions that address their specific ITAM, cybersecurity, compliance, and ITSM needs

  • Act as a subject matter expert on ITAM, cybersecurity, compliance, and ITSM solutions, leveraging deep technical knowledge to support sales efforts and drive customer engagement

  • Train and mentor sales engineers and other sales staff, helping them understand the technical aspects of the products and how to discuss them with potential customers

  •  Lead discussions with technical stakeholders and C-suite executives, effectively articulating the value proposition of our solutions and their impact on business outcomes

  •  Conduct comprehensive technical presentations and demonstrations to showcase the capabilities and benefits of our products, particularly in relation to ITAM, cybersecurity, and ITSM

  •  Provide guidance on integrating our solutions with leading ITSM tools such as ServiceNow's CMDB, highlighting the synergies and efficiencies gained through integration

  • Work closely with partners (ISV, VAR, SI, MSP, etc.) to position Lansweeper as part of an overall solution

  • Lead proof-of-concept (POC) initiatives to demonstrate the effectiveness and value of our products in real-world scenarios, addressing customer concerns and objections

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies related to ITAM, cybersecurity, and ITSM, providing insights and recommendations to internal stakeholders

  • Collaborate with product development and engineering teams to provide feedback on customer requirements and contribute to product enhancements

Job requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Advanced degree preferred

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in a technical sales engineering role within the ITAM or related space, with a proven track record of driving successful outcomes

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in management/leadership experience

  • Extensive expertise in ITAM principles, processes, and best practices, with experience in deploying and managing ITAM solutions in enterprise environments

  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity principles, practices, and technologies, including threat detection, vulnerability management, attack surface management, and risk mitigation strategies

  • Proficiency in leading ITSM tools such as ServiceNow's CMDB, with experience in integrating ITAM, cybersecurity, and ITSM solutions to deliver comprehensive IT management capabilities

  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, understanding their business challenges and aligning our solutions to address their needs

  •  Knowledge of digital transformation or IT modernization projects, with the ability to position our solutions as key enablers of organizational change

  • Willingness to travel as needed to support customer engagements (up to 30% travel may be required)
