Senior AI‑Native Software Engineer
Location: Montreal, Canada (preferred, hybrid) or Austin, TX (Hybrid) or East Coast
Lansweeper is evolving its engineering organization toward an AI‑native development model. We are hiring a Senior AI‑Native Software Engineer to help build reliable, scalable systems while effectively leveraging AI as a development multiplier.
Your mission: design and deliver high‑quality, production‑grade software in an AI‑augmented workflow — without compromising engineering rigor, performance, or architectural integrity.
In the near term, you will contribute to the Redjack integration team, ensuring system quality, architectural clarity, and scalable design as multiple AI‑assisted development streams run in parallel.
Challenge
The main challenges you'll face are:
Maintaining engineering rigor and system quality in an AI‑assisted development environment
Scaling systems while balancing performance, reliability, and architectural clarity
Coordinating parallel AI‑driven development workflows without losing technical coherence
Key Responsibilities
Design and build maintainable, scalable, observable, and well‑tested software systems
Work in an AI‑augmented development workflow: decompose problems, guide AI tools, review AI‑generated code, and ensure production‑grade quality
Contribute to architecture discussions, long‑term system evolution, and technical direction
Apply strong system thinking across data models, APIs, distributed systems, and service boundaries
Produce clear technical documentation, structured prompts, and design proposals to improve collaboration between engineers and AI systems
Mentor peers and collaborate cross‑functionally with Product, UX, and other Engineering teams
Key Requirements
Hard skills:
Strong foundation in software engineering fundamentals (testing, version control, CI/CD, code review)
Proven experience in C, C++, or Rust
Experience building backend systems or distributed systems
Solid understanding of data modeling, APIs, and service‑oriented architectures
Experience designing scalable and reliable systems
Practical experience in an AI‑assisted development environment (using AI tools for coding, refactoring, testing, documentation)
Experience with SQL
Knowledge of networks and underlying hardware infrastructure
Soft skills:
Curious and adaptable; quick to learn new tools and technologies
Systems thinker who values simplicity over unnecessary complexity
Strong ownership mindset and commitment to engineering quality
Able to combine human judgment with AI capabilities to build better software
On‑Call Participation
This role may include participation in our on‑call duty system, requiring availability outside regular hours to respond to urgent technical incidents.
On‑call weeks are planned in advance
Base allowance plus potential overtime compensation
