Senior accountant

Context & Impact:
We're looking for a Senior Accountant to join our Finance team at our HQ in Merelbeke, Belgium — stepping into a key role within a fast-moving, international environment. As Senior Accountant, you'll be the backbone of our day-to-day accounting operations across multiple legal entities, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and continuity across the full accounting cycle. Beyond keeping the engine running, you'll play an active role in shaping how our Finance team works — contributing to AI-driven workflow innovation that will allow us to further scale.

Challenge:
The main challenges you'll face are:

• Maintaining the pace and quality of operational accounting without disruption while you onboard and get up to speed across multiple legal entities

• Actively building and championing new AI-assisted workflows within the accounting team — not waiting to be asked, but bringing your own initiatives to the table

• Supporting the team's transition toward a higher-volume, future-ready Finance function — balancing today's deadlines with tomorrow's ways of working

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and process timely supplier payments and process all payroll-related accounting entries

• Process bank statements and post and maintain evidence for general ledger transactions

• Manage month-end and year-end closing: prepare accurate accruals and deferrals, review and control the general ledger, and revaluate foreign currency positions

• Ensure reconciliation of intercompany positions and follow up the fixed asset register from assets under construction through to disposal

• Assist with international VAT and corporate tax regulations, prepare VAT declaration

• Assist in the financial audit and support A/P and A/R accountants with accounting-related questions

• Identify and drive opportunities to improve accounting processes, and actively participate in — and initiate — finance-related AI and IT projects

Hard skills:

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting and/or Finance

• 5+ years of experience in a similar senior accounting role or in an audit/yax advisory role

• Strong knowledge of IFRS

• Solid tax knowledge — VAT and corporate income tax

• Advanced Excel skills

• Fluent in English and Dutch

AI Specific Skills:
Lansweeper is an AI-native company. As Senior Accountant, you won't just use AI tools — you'll help define how we use them in Finance. You're expected to actively participate in building new AI-assisted accounting workflows and to bring your own ideas and initiatives to the table. You'll work with tools like Microsoft Copilot and Claude to explore smarter ways to handle reconciliation, reporting, and other accounting processes. You don't need to have all the answers on day one, but you need the curiosity, drive, and hands-on mindset to figure them out — and the willingness to champion that transformation within the team.

Team Info:
You'll join the Finance team at Lansweeper's HQ in Merelbeke, Belgium, reporting to the Accounting Manager. The broader Finance team consists of 8 people: 4 in Accounting and 4 in FP&A — a collaborative, international group working across multiple legal entities.

Salary: €68,513 – €111,334 gross per year (Belgium, based on full-time employment)

Pay Transparency:

The gross salary range for this role is €68,513 – €111,334 (EUR) (Belgium) (based on full-time employment).
