We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cloud Engineer API to join our cloud SaaS company. 

A day in the life of

  • Design, develop, and maintain APIs to facilitate data exchange and integration between different cloud services and applications.
  • Ensure API documentation is comprehensive and up-to-date
  • Design and implement integration solutions between cloud services and on-premises systems.
  • Collaborate with development teams to define integration architecture best practices.
  • Configure and manage API gateways to control access, monitor traffic, and enforce security policies for APIs.
  • Implement rate limiting, authentication, and authorization mechanisms.
  • Work with microservices architecture, ensuring effective communication and data flow between microservices through APIs.
  • Optimize microservices for performance and scalability.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of cloud platforms mainly AWS and their respective API services.
  • Implement cloud-native integrations leveraging platform-specific features.
  • Implement monitoring solutions to track API and integration performance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to APIs and integrations.
  • To have experience with service telemetry: traces, metrics and logs.
  • Implement security best practices for APIs, including data encryption, identity management, and adherence to compliance standards.
  • Conduct security assessments and implement necessary measures to secure integrations.
  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to automate deployment processes for APIs and integrations.
  • Implement Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) pipelines for integration projects.
  • Ensure that APIs and integration solutions are scalable to meet growing demands.
  • Optimize performance through caching, load balancing, and other relevant techniques.
  • Implement version control for APIs and manage the lifecycle of integrations.
  • Plan and execute seamless updates and version transitions.

Job requirements

Are you the new Senior Software Engineer at Lansweeper?

I am someone who

  • Is proficient in one or more programming languages mainly with Golang and NodeJS
  • is fluent in English. 
  • is familiar with API security standards (OAuth, JWT) and encryption protocols.
  • is familiar with DevOps tools for automation and CI/CD (e.g., Github actions, CircleCI).

I have

  • Strong knowledge and experience with federated schemas in graphql.
  • Solid knowledge of RESTful API design principles.
  • In-depth understanding of cloud platforms (AWS) and their API services.
  • Strong knowledge of microservices architecture and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Implementation of security measures within APIs and integrations.
  • Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging solutions for API and integration troubleshooting.
  • Experience implementing observability with traces and visualization tools like jaeger or honeycomb
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and resolve issues in API and integration implementations.
  • Effective communication skills to collaborate with cross-functional teams and articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to create and maintain comprehensive documentation for APIs, integrations, and related processes.
