We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Big Data and ML Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining large-scale data processing systems and machine learning models. The role requires in-depth knowledge of data management, processing, and machine learning technologies.

A day in the life of:

- Design and implement highly scalable and reliable data processing systems

- Manage and optimize big data platforms such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Cassandra and NoSQL databases

- Develop and maintain machine learning models for predictive analytics, natural language processing, and computer vision

- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement data-driven solutions

- Define the collection of data points: You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify and define data points to collect, ensuring they are relevant and valuable to the organization

- As the technical project lead, initial responsibility is to bootstrap the project and lay the foundation for future growth of the platform and of the data team

- Identify, collect, and preprocess data from various sources for analysis

- Develop and maintain data visualization tools for data exploration and reporting

- Stay up-to-date with the latest data processing and machine learning technologies and trends

- Ensure data security and privacy throughout the data processing and analysis pipeline

- Troubleshoot and debug issues in data processing and machine learning systems

Are you the new Big Data & ML Engineer at Lansweeper?

I am someone who has:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science, Data Science, or a related field

- 3+ years of experience in big data processing and machine learning development

- Experience with big data technologies such as Hadoop, Spark, and NoSQL databases

- Experience with AWS managed services like EMR, S3, Athena, Quicksight

- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, and Scala

- Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, Superset and D3.js

- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills

- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

- Good knowledge of English to read and write documentation and to actively interact with global teams in the other EU/US locations

- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment

- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks

- Residence in Rome or nearby
